In 1978, he passed through Tallowfield as Charlotte Emerich vanished. Framed as a scapegoat, his trauma snapped, and he fled into the woods, hunted by the town and darker forces alike.

As he grew, his family died one by one, leaving him alone with his hunger and strength. The cult found him useful and gave him purpose. Jed kills not out of belief or loyalty, but appetite — a hunger the cult can no longer control.

When suspicion closed in, the cult intervened, drawing him back to ancestral soil. There, his compulsions sharpened. Thaddeus does not see himself as a monster — only as a scholar continuing a forbidden lineage.
